Koala Construction work closely with the Gibraltar Heritage Trust and are keen participants in various restoration and conservation projects.

Restoration

Building restoration can refer to the action or process of accurately revealing, recovering or representing the state of a historic building, as it appeared at a particular period in its history, while protecting its heritage value. Work is often performed to reverse decay, or alterations made to the building after its initial construction.

Updating the past into the present, we ensure that our restoration projects are as faithful to the original materials and finish as possible, using industry approved practices. Koala operatives are agents of St Astier Lime products which we use for our restoration projects.

Conservation

Conservation of buildings deals with issues of prolonging the life and integrity of architectural character and integrity, such as form and style, and/or its constituent materials, such as stone, brick, glass, metal, and wood.

Koala operatives have been called upon to apply a number of conservation techniques on local projects. From the application of protective treatments to wall bracing and ongoing maintenance for buildings that require it, Koala have the solution to your conservation problem.
